Our Senior Men travelled to Killorglin last Sunday afternoon for Round 2 of the Senior County League.  A quick start had us 0-4 to 0-2 in frony at the end of the first quarter but the hosts finished the half the stronger, nailing four points on the spin. A penalty save from Brian Kelly just before half time meant it 0-6 to 0-4 at the short whistle. Points from Ryan Grady and Finbarr Murphy closed the gap to the minimum, 0-9 to 0-8, at the three quarter stage. But again Laune Rangers pulled clear with a purple patch, nudging them 1-14 to 0-9 to the good with the final whistle in sight. A late goal from Eoghan O Sullivan put a better look on the scoreline, which finished 1-14 to 1-10. The visit of Kerins O Rahillys to Direen this Saturday April 6th is next on the agenda, the game throwing in at 6pm.

Four other Mothers and Others  teams from Ireland will also be travelling. It is upported by the LGFA, Rennes City Council, Gaelic Games Europe, the World GAA Global Development Fund Grant, and the French Federation for Gaelic Sports . The event also marks a significant milestone in the promotion of Gaelic Games in France. The focus of the day will be on fostering friendship and inclusivity, with non-competitive games aimed at promoting the ethos of Gaelic4Mothers&Others which emphasises participation, fun, and community engagement over winning.
Our group are very proud to be representing the club, town and country and they go with our very best wishes.

Following a defeat to Spa in Round 5, our U17 Boys face Rathmore in Direen at 6pm on Thursday April 4th, weather permitting, in a series of back game due to be playe in Division 1. With two wins and two defeats out of their four games, a win here would be most welcomed. We wish them the best of luck.

The very best of luck to the Kerry Senior Ladies team as they face Armagh in the Lidl National League final this Sunday April 7th at 3pm in Croke Park. Keri Ann Hanrahan is now a mainstay of the squad and you can catch all the action on TG4.

Well done to Brian Looney, Liam Fahy, John Kelly, and Fergal Courtney, who competed for the Club in the Scór Sinsear Tráth na gCeist team. They finished a highly respectable sixth in what is always a real test of knowledge.

With the current unprecedented rainfall level the Field and Facilities committee took the decision to close both our playing pitches to give them some breathing space. We are fortunate to have a very good training surface in our upper area which is invaluable in weeks like this. With the opportunity given, both pitches have now been verti drained and they should assist their development no end in the short term. Its crucial in adverse weather conditions that we all accede to the request of our hard working committee.

We were delight to donate some of our Jersey to Eddie Sheehy and his Kenyan Education Project recently. Eddie has done huge work in the less privileged areas of the country and we are always glad to help out in anyway we can.
