14 EAST KERRY FINAL
Killarney Legion 5-20 Kilcummin 5-10
These two sides served up as entertaining a game as one could have wished for with the Legion ultimately getting the better of a determined Kilcummin squad to take the title.A flying start which saw goals from Connor Gammel,Matthew Horgan, and Eoghan Crowley gave the green and whites a solid platform and it seemed that they would swamp the opposition but Kilcummin to their credit rallied well and duly replied with 2-4 to leave the score at the break Killarney Legion 4-9 Kilcummin 2-6.Having upped their game Kilcummin came out in determined fashion and hit some early points but another Sam Benson goal bolstered the Legion and they gradually pulled away with points from Gammell,Caelan Sheahan,Crowley and Matthew Horgan.A fine performance by a squad that augurs well for the future with the players showing a great command of the basic skills -undoubtedly a result of the Saturday Academy.Well done to one and all.
