Our U13 Green team overcame an impressive Laune Rangers outfit in O Sullivan Park. After a tight first half in  which we led 2-1 to 1-3 we pulled away early in the second half and managed the game well to finish out the game 3-7 to 1-4 winners.
The White team were also successful with all eighteen players doing their bit as our team play resulted in us hitting five goals and finishing out the game on top on a scoreline of 5-10 to 1-04.

LADIES UPDATE

All our Juvenile teams were in action this week and it was most successful as they all recorded great win on the road.

The U12 Girls played Beaufort in the South Kerry League and with all 25 in the panel getting game it was a most satisfactory evening’s work as they ran out 5-11 to 5-7  victors at the Mid Kerry venue.

Our U14 White team hit the road for the home of Puck Fair as they faced Laune Rangers at the track in Cloon. Always in control it allowed our younger panel members to gain valuable playing time and they played nice football to run out 2-8 to 1-2 winners over an excellent Rangers side.
The U16 Girls remain undefeated after  two away games as their latest trip saw them head to Ballybunion where they made use of a strong wind in the second half and closed out the game, winning 4-7 to 1-4.

The Minor Girls were in Listowel Friday night as they commenced their County League campaign. Always earning their corn in the North Kerry town they were in great form and had the goal scoring touch with good defending to match as they won 6-9 to 2-7.

Well done to all teams and management.

SENIOR MENS UPDATE

We made the trip up to Spa last Saturday Evening to face a Spa side who had accounted for Ballymacelligott in the first round of the County League. Displaying a bigger zest in the opening ten minutes the hosts ran into a 2-4 to 0-1 before a purple patch instigated by the excellent and returning Padraig Lucey and James O Donoghue saw us kick four points in a row to get back into the game. A further point by Rob Leen saw Spa lead by 2-7 to 0-6 at half time. A good start was needed to the second half to get back into the game and Finbarr Murphy and James O Donoghue supplied that with well taken points but that only served to stir the hornet’s nest and Spa kicked on again and in truth the two goals were always the barrier between the two sides and the final score read to 2-14 to 0-13 to the home team. This weekend sees Munster Junior Champions Gneeveguilla visit Direen for Round 3 of the County League with Saturday evening at 6.30 pencilled in for throw-in.

The Senior B Team headed for Ballinskelligs for a tie with St Michaels Foilmore. A stiff breeze was a big factor in the game and playing with the elements in the first we led 1-5 to 0-6 at half time. St Michaels Foilmore used their great experience over a young Legion side with the elements to their backs and kicked ten points to close out the game eventually but a Matthew Horgan goal meant the lads kept the game going to the very end . Final Score 0-16 to 2-5. Kerins O Rahillys B visit Direen this Sunday at 2pm in the next round.
TEAM..1. Liam O Toole, 2.Daniel Carroll, 3. Callum O Donoghue, 4.Evan Brosnan, 5.Noel Moynihan, 6 Alan Moriarty, 7.Donnacha Warren, 8. Evan Smith, 9. Stephen Flattery 0-2 10. Bryan Griffin, 11. Jack Enright 0-2, 12. Matthew Horgan 1-0 13. Gavin Moriarty 0-1 14. Colm O Cuiv 1-0
