E.K.SUPERLEAGUE
Killarney Legion 2-9 Kilcummin 0-9
A positive start for the seniors as they saw off a competitive Kilcummin in Derreen .Despite the heavy conditions both sides served up a lively encounter but two Legion goals – one in each half proved to be decisive. What was especially pleasing for the home side was the inclusion of a number of very young panel members namely Luke O Donoghue,Cian Sheahan,Michael Pierce and the welcome return of Peter and Conor McCarthy all of whom made an impact,a good sign for the future with a good number of others yet to return to action.Another notable fearture was the level of fitness shown in what were testing conditions of stamina and concentration. The panel appears to have a very nice balance of seasoned and new players and we look forward to them progressing.Another good test awaits them this coming Sunday 25th.Feb away to Gneeveguilla, all support welcome.
MINORS
The minors year got off to a losing start as they went down to the Cordal/Scartaglin combination in their first outing. It was always going to be an uphill struggle as the panel was minus six players and in the end this was too much to overcome.
