INTERMEDIATE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
A disappointing climax to our campaign with a three point defeat to Milltown / Castlemaine in the semi-final final played at a pristine Fitzgerald Stadium. Trailing by three at half time, 0-9 to 0-6, an early second half goal put us on the back foot. Despite a Ryan O Grady penalty and an Eoghan O Sullivan point cutting the gap to two with twelve minutes remaining , we couldn’t get any closer and Milltown Castlemaine ran out 1-13 to 1-10 winners. They now meet Fossa in the final, who were themselves victorious over Austin Stacks.

U15 GIRLS
On what was a busy week for our ladies’ sides, there was no joy for our u15 outfit in their u15 Co Championship quarter final, but it certainly wasn’t for the lack of effort. Corca Dhuibhne made the long trip from the west and, after a blistering start, led the game 1-03 to 0-00 after 10 minutes. Our ladies did superbly to battle back with some very well worked scores to draw level at the break. The 2nd half was a right battle with plenty of chances at either end. At the final whistle, the result wasn’t clear, but unfortunately for us, Corca Dhuibhne had managed one more score than us to take the game by a single point and advance to the semi final Final score Legion 4-07 Corca Dhuibhne 3-11.
MOTHERS AND OTHERS
Big shout out to John Bowler of Eddie Rockets, New Street Killarney who has sponsored a set of jerseys for the Mothers and Others team who are representing the club at the National Gaelic for Mother’s and Others blitz in Portmarnock on Saturday next, 16th September.
ACADEMY JERSEYS
Last Saturday morning saw the launch of our brand new Academy Jersey. The new design reflects a modernisation of the style with the round neck replacing the traditional collar style. A new feature also is the logo of Randles Brothers Nissan Dealers who’s main club sponsorship now embraces the Academy. We would like to place on record our thanks to Keanes Jewellers for the outstanding support they gave the Academy since 2015 and obviously thank our main Club sponsors Randles Bros for their unstinting support.
