The Senior Men will look to maintain their recent good form and momentum when they travel to Cahirciveen to play St Marys this Sunday May 15th. Throw in at Con Keating Park is 2pm.
The Senior B Team made the trip on Wednesday May 4th to Milltown for Round 5 of the Division 6A County League which resulted in a victory for the home side on a scoreline of Milltown /Castlemaine 2-12 Killarney Legion 0-11. They travel to Tuosist this weekend in Round 6.

LADIES UPDATE

The U14s played their final group game against Glenflesk who they are neck and neck with at the top of the table. And the game reflected that. It was nip and tuck throughout but a stronger start to the second half made all the difference as Glenflesk ran out 2-9 to 1-9 winners of a rip roaring contest. The girls have now qualified for this weekends semi final.

The U16 team made the trip to Listowel on Tuesday night a worthwhile exercise as they maintained their unbeaten run in the Division. Well poised with two more games to play they are both at home with  Firies this Tuesday and then on the 24th May Dr Crokes comes to visit.

The Minors will face Kilcummin this Friday, May 13th, knowing that a win is essential in order to secure a home venue for the County League semi final against the same opposition. Having lost out to Laune Rangers last Friday in a tight battle (4-5 to 2-14) in JP O’Sullivan Park they’ll be keen to make amends.

KERRY

Well done to Elizabeth Mohan, Keri-Ann Hanrahan and the Kerry Senior Ladies who qualified for the Munster Final by virtue of a fine win over Tipperary in Pairc Ui Rinn on Saturday evening. Its possible the showpiece event will be played as a curtain raiser to the Senior Mens equivalent between Kerry and/or Limerick/Tipperary on Saturday May 28th in Fitzgerald Stadium.

MOTHERS AND OTHERS

The highly popular Mothers and Others Football is back in its usual Wednesday night slot from 8-9pm. The Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative sees women playing Ladies Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment providing an opportunity for women to get their recommended weekly exercise in a fun way while meeting others. All new members welcome!!

JUVENILE BOYS

The U13 Boys had a double date with Dr Crokes during the week in Lewis Road. On Friday evening the White Team won out on a scoreline of  5-15 to 3-7. Having won all four games in their Division and using 27 players in the process the likelihood is the team will be moved up a grade or two for phase 2 of the competition.

The Green team were in action on Sunday evening and a fine first half showing laid the foundation for another impressive win for the lads. They struck for three goals in that period while their defending was top notch limiting the Crokes to just four points. The team went through Phase 1 of the County League unbeaten in Division 1 and now await Phase 2 where they will be joined by other teams that will be regraded.

The U15 Boys White Team  lost out to Laune Rangers B in the County League semi final played in Direen last Wednesday evening. After a very even first half they only trailed by 1 point., 2-7 to 2-6. However Laune Rangers rang the changes at half time and put in a strong second half running out winners, 6-12 to 2-8.This competition served a great purpose as it ensured every member of the U15 panel got valuable playing time and the lads will be all the better for it.

DEEPEST SYMPATHIES

The Club extends its sympathies to the family of Mary Kelly.

Mary was one of our Senior Teams top supporters. No matter the time, date, competition or venue she was there with her trademark Green and White Scarf.
Mary of course was extremely proud of son Brian, our Senior goalkeeper ,who was also Kerry’s No.1 the last time Kerry won the All Ireland in 2014. Richard has also been an integral part of the Senior teams backroom since 2011 with his video and analysis work. The East Kerry Superleague Final vs Crokes scheduled for Sunday was postponed as a mark of respect.

We also extend our condolences to the family of the late Jerry Coffey from Castleialand. Jerry’s sister Eily Mai is mother to staunch Club members Donal and Tim O’Leary while John and PJ also wore the club jersey with distinction in the past.
