THANK YOU
The Club would like to thank and acknowledge some members for their contribution and dedication to the Club who have stepped down from their respective positions.
Diarmuid Leen served as Vice Chairman in more recent years following on from a 3 year stint as Senior team Selector. He was also a central figure in the fundraising drive the Club has embarked on in the last 10 years, helping to upgrade our facilities so well.
Tom Griffin was Club registrar and in his time in the position he advanced the role ,overseeing a big change in how membership was collected and data gathered. With new guidance on how information is shared Tom was a most conscientious and responsible officer.
Elaine O Donoghue in her role as PRO oversaw a vast portfolio between the written notes and the emergence of Social media platforms but took it all in her stride as she kept members at home and abroad up to speed on all Club affairs. Many thanks to Elaine for her great work.
Pat Moynihan as chairman of the Field and Facilities Committee oversaw a huge transformation in the clubs surroundings with the Stand and New All weather Floodlit pitch being the envy of any club in the country.Pat put in an enormous effort in to deliver these to the Club.
Tom Galvin this year takes up his role as Captain of Killarney Golf Club and we would like to thank for his work in the Social Committee organising our get togethers to the finest detail.
The Club would also like to thank Denny Murphy, Denise Fogarty, Desiree Crowley and Sean O Sullivan for their contributions to the Club Executive.
SENIOR MENS TEAM UPDATE
The Club would like to thank most sincerely the outgoing Senior Mens Management team for their work and commitment as they have completed their term. Manager Stephen Stack, Trainer Pat Flanagan, Selectors Thomas Lyne, Peter O Leary and Enda Walshe  were in place since 2019 and  were joined in 2021 by Sean Culloty (and Karl Dillon as coach) and they brought a new level of professionalism and preparation to the team. The obvious highlight was the O Donoghue Cup win of 2019 ,our first one since 1976 and the solidifying of the team as a Division 1 Club. Obviously the relegation to Intermediate status this year was a huge disappointment but the team will look to bounce back in 2022.
Many thanks to the lads once again.
RIP
Deepest sympathies to John McCarthy, our senior Ladies Manager, on the passing of his mother Peggy (Margaret) McCarthy Cork, also grandmother to our senior players Sean, Peter and Kate.
Also to the family of Eileen Finn.
Eileen is a member of the O Meara family, who are steeped in the club ,with their bar on High Street an unofficial clubhouse in days gone by
May they Rest in Peace.
NEW YEARS WISHES
The Club would like to wish all our members, players and supporters a Happy New Year and all the best for 2022.
