The Senior B team made it a successful weekend for the adult teams when they beat Castleisland Desmonds to capture the Division 6 Shield competition. Playing at a scorching but blustery Currow they played against the breeze in the first half and would have been very content to be just two down at half time with Luke O’Donoghue grabbing the first half goal. A determined start to the second half saw the teams level but Desmonds pulled six clear again with two quick fire goals. With the referee sensibly allowing water breaks a response was needed at the three quarters stage and so it happened as a flurry of points and a Finbarr Murphy goal saw us run out 3-12 to 4-7 winners. Well done to team management Donal O Donoghue, Michael B O’Donoghue, Conor McNiece, Mark O Leary and Mike Piggott who have been particularly busy these last few weeks with Junior competitions in full swing.
